First big Ramadan fest in Putrajaya 2013

THIS year, the first ever Putrajaya Ramadan Festival is set to be the largest bazaar to be held at the federal administrative capital. Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat said it would be the first large-scale bazaar organised by the corporation.
“The bazaar, which will begin on July 10 and end on Aug 7, will be at Precinct 3 and covers areas surrounding the Putrajaya Corporation Complex, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque and Kiblat Walk (the walkway from the complex to the mosque),” he said during a press conference on the festival recently. Aseh said the objective was to provide an alternative location for the Putrajaya community to enjoy food for the breaking of fast as well as shop for Hari Raya.
“They can buy the items they need right here in Putrajaya and need not travel to Kuala Lumpur. “They can save themselves time as well as the stress of facing the traffic congestion in the city,” he said.“The bazaar traders will offer clothes, food and a wide range of items for Hari Raya. “The festival will also include religious activities and exhibitions,” said Aseh. He added that the main highlight of the festival would be the Perdana Forum from July 26 to 28 in conjunction with the observance of Nuzul Quran.
“Religious programmes as well as talks by prominent religious figures such as Ustaz Haslin Baharim, Ustazah Datuk Siti Nor Bahyah, Ustaz Rohidzir Rais and Ustazah Fatimah Syarha will also be held,” he said. Aseh said dates and Zam Zam water would be distributed for free to the public and there would be free breaking of fast meals and moreh sessions at the mosque daily. Other activities lined up include an art exhibition, cooking demonstration, nasyid and zikir by famous nasyid groups such as Hafiz Hamidon, Raihan, In Team, Mirwana, Maulid and Brothers.
